Wynn Hotel - Las Vegas Nevada

Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada

The Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the newest and most luxurious hotels in all of Sin City.  Steve Wynn, former owner and founder of Bellagio, Mirage, and Treasure Island set out to create a new standard of luxury with the Wynn, and to a large degree, he succeeded.

The Wynn has a simple, elegant exterior design, some of the most upscale shops in Vegas, and breathtaking waterfalls, lakes, and other water features.

The Wynn is the only casino hotel in the world to receive the AAA 5 Diamond, Michelin 5 Red Pavilions, and the Mobil 5 Star awards- a very impressive feat.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, as you would expect from a Steve Wynn property, the restaurants are excellent, and the meeting and banquet facilities are exceptional.

For golfers, the Wynn has a truly beautiful course, complete a 40 foot tall waterfall and immaculate fairways and greens.  The price is steep (over $500) but well worth it if you can afford it.

My one gripe about the Wynn is the design of its lobby and shopping area interior, which is a bit too colorful and flowery for my taste and seems out of place, given the rest of the hotel’s understated class.

But all in all, the Wynn is a fabulous hotel, one of the best in Vegas.

Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas

Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas

The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas and its new sister hotel, the Palazzo, are two of the most luxurious and upscale hotels in Nevada.

The Venetian, with its signature canals, gondola rides, and soaring bell tower, has been one of my favorites since it opened several years ago.
The rooms in the Venetian are large, plus, and simply beautiful, decorated with an Italian flair, and come with a sunken living room, a dining table, walk-in closets, and a convertible sofa.

At 700 square feet, the rooms are very spacious, and they make for the perfect romantic Vegas getaway, honeymoon, or wedding/honeymoon combination.

Venetian Lobby

The lobby is equally impressive, with its Venetian Palazzo decore and magnificent fresco ceilings (see the photo above).

The lobby artwork is truly a sight to behold, as is the exterior of the hotel. The exterior canals run into the hotel’s interior as well, where the gondolas float past the ultra-chic Grand Canal Shoppes. These might just be the most beautiful stores in all of Vegas (and they have some stiff competition for that title).

This is one resort I highly recommend. As impressive as it is outside, its interior and rooms are even more amazing!

Caesars Palace Las Vegas

Caesars Palace Las Vegas

Caesars Palace Las Vegas, one of the grand old hotels in Vegas, has undergone tremendous renovations and improvements over the past decade.

From the ever-expanding and vibrant Forum Shops to the new Arena (built for Celine Dionne) to the new hotel towers, Caesars is hardly recognizable anymore.

While I must admit that I miss the old Caesars facade and classic look, the new Caesars definitely has some impressive improvements.

the Forum Shops have almost doubled in size since they opened in the ’90s, and the new arena is an impressive concert venue.

Caesars also has a great mid-strip location, next to Bellagio and the Mirage, and diagonally across from Paris and the Venetian.

Caesars has great entertainment, still some of the best in Vegas, and the casino remains second to none. The new rooms are comparable in quality to other luxury Vegas hotels, and the new conference facilities are pretty impressive too (they include a pair of beautiful wedding chapels, which are actually quite reasonably priced).

Caesars remains a great place to stay in Vegas, and with all the great stores, restaurants, and entertainment, you never even have to leave the property to have a great vacation.

Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas

Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas

The Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas is an absolutely amazing resort, with wonderful restaurants, exclusive shops, a vast, beautiful pool area, and, of course, its world famous fountains.

Situated on the South Las Vegas Strip directly across from Paris Las Vegas, Bellagio occupies one of the best locations of all Vegas casinos.

Bellagio ushered in a new era of ultra-luxury in Vegas, and, while it’s levels of service and quality have since been matched by such properties as Wynn Las Vegas and the Venetian, this amazing property has yet to be topped.

From the hand-laid mosaic tile floor in the lobby to the beautiful botanical garden to the golf course and its fine art gallery, Bellagio manages a level of luxury and uniqueness that really sets it apart from other casinos.

The in-house wedding chapels are beautiful (if quite a long walk from the main hotel along what seems like half a mile of hallways!) and the meeting facilities are top-notch.

Rooms at the Bellagio never come cheap, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend staying at this hotel, which has received an incredibly rare five-diamond rating from the AAA.

Encore at Wynn Las Vegas

Encore at Wynn Las Vegas

The Encore at Wynn Las Vegas is the latest ultra-luxury resort in town, and will be opening in late 2008.  Located on the north side of the Wynn casino property, Encore is a virtual replica of the Wynn tower, turned at a 90 degree angle.

If you haven’t been to the Wynn, you really need to check it out.  It has some of the most luxurious shops anywhere, a GREAT buffet, and amazing waterfalls and lakes.

When Encore opens, it will effectively double the room capacity at the Wynn.  The casino has its own golf course, some amazing in-house banquet, convention, and wedding facilities, and, of course, a beautiful and huge casino.

It’s also across the street from the Las Vegas mall and the Venetian/Palazzo, so there is plenty to see and do in the immediate vicinity.  I’d put the Wynn on my must-see list when in Vegas, especially with the opening of Encore.

Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas

Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino is located in the heart of the Strip, right across from Bellagio (and it’s amazing fountains), and diagonally across from Caesars.

Paris has one of the best buffets in town (with incredible crab legs!), and the view from the Eiffel Tower is the best on the south Strip (and it’s definitely the coolest viewing platform in town).

The casino is fine, though it is less impressive than the exterior. But this is definitely a great (if rather pricey) place to stay in Vegas.
